LuLu Hypermarket’s week-long ‘BBQ Bliss’ promotion riveted the interests of grilling gurus and grilled food lovers alike.The promotion, which ran from 14–20 February at all outlets of the hypermarket, was inaugurated on 14 February at the Al-Rai branch by renowned Arabic chef Aqeel along with LuLu’s top management, in front of a gathering of shoppers and well-wishers.
The celebration of ‘all things barbecue’ offered amazing deals, exciting contests, and of course, the tantalizing aroma of grilled meat. During the promotion period, the entire range of BBQ products, including barbeque grilling sets, accessories and tools, as well as, succulent meats, fresh fish, flavorsome BBQ sauces, and anything else you might need to make a perfect barbeque were offered at special prices.
The heat of the promotion was turned higher on 17 February when the live BBQ contest at the Al-Rai outlet saw more than 100 contestants vying with each other to create that perfectly grilled wonder, and take home the coveted top prizes.
With Al Youm as the main sponsor, and Sadia, Americana, Seara, Khazan, McCain, and Al Tayyeb as co-sponsors, the competition was a sizzling spectacle. At the end of the contest, the best grillers of the day were presented with superb prizes and gifts by top management of LuLu Hypermarket and Al Youm. Consolation prizes were also handed to all participants in the competition.
The seven days of BBQ Bliss witnessed specially set up stalls in the hypermarket showcasing full-set barbeque equipment and accessories, while food sampling counters and food trucks allowed shoppers to relish grilled delights and other foods.A dedicated play-zone kept the little ones engaged in various activities.
Adding to the sizzle of BBQ Bliss was live music, captivating performances by mascots, tallest man/flower costumes, mirror show performances and even a cooking demonstration by Chef Aqeel9 himself, all of which ensured there was something blissful for everyone to enjoy.
