Kuwait’s stadiums ready for Gulf 26 football championship

The training stadiums for the 26th Gulf Cup football tournament to be hosted by Kuwait from December 21 to January 3 are prepared for the event, Tariq al-Kandari, an official of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF), said on Saturday.

Speaking in a press statement, Al-Kandari, a member of higher organizing committee of the tourney, said official games would be held on Jaber and Jaber Al-Mubarak stadiums, which are fully ready for the championship.

All maintenance works have been carried out at all stadiums, and Jaber Mubarak facility is one of the modernist stadiums designed, in accordance with European standards, he noted.

Security, transportation and emergency plans have been set for the championship, he said. Kuwait team will have training on Thamer Stadium at Al-Salmiya Club, while the other teams will hold their training sessions on a number of stadiums.

The event has two groups: Group A, which includes Qatar, alongside hosts Kuwait, the UAE and Oman, and Group B comprises Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Yemen.
