Kuwait’s society for the disabled hosts vocational rehabilitation exhibition
Coinciding with the ‘International Day of Persons with Disabilities,’ the ‘Kuwait Society for the Care of the Disabled’ launched its ninth vocational rehabilitation exhibition today, under the patronage and attendance of Governor OF Ahmadi, H. E. Sheikh Hamoud Al-Jaber.
The event also witnessed the presence of the Society’s Chairperson, Sabeeka Al-Jasser, board members, and various distinguished personalities and entities.
The Director General of the Association, Baraa Al-Janaei, stated that the exhibition aims to enhance vocational rehabilitation opportunities for people with disabilities.
Al-Janaei expressed gratitude to various authorities for recognizing the importance of providing suitable work opportunities for people with disabilities, supporting their ambitions, and creating platforms to showcase their talents and abilities.
What’s more is that, Al-Janaei emphasized the association’s dedication to utilizing all resources to develop the skills of individuals with disabilities. She highlighted its commitment in enhancing their quality of life, fulfilling their rights, showcasing their capabilities, fostering independence, and supporting those who care for them, which is in accordance with established frameworks and systems.
Al-Janaei stated that the exhibition showcases products from various art workshops involving students from the association’s centers in Hawalli, Jahra, and Ahmadi.
These include carpentry, printing and photography, ceramics, artwork, recycling, mandalas, agriculture, accessories, weaving, sewing, home economics, and metal recycling.
