Kuwait’s national holiday sparkles at open family day for diplomats
The Deanship of the Diplomatic Corps organized an open family day at the Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex, bringing together around 170 diplomats and their families to celebrate the occasion.

• His Excellency Zubaydullo Zubaydzoda, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the couuntry, emphasized Kuwait’s significance to the diplomatic community, noting their initiatives to share local customs and events. He highlighted their participation in the Kuwait Marathon, expressing a sense of belonging to this rich society.
• Aziz Al-Dehani, Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs, said that both governmental and private institutions take part in Kuwait’s national celebrations, emphasizing that Kuwait holds significant value and is appreciated by people worldwide.
The Dean of the Diplomatic Corps hosted an open family day for all diplomatic missions at the Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex, with approximately 170 diplomats and their families joining in the celebrations for Kuwait’s national holiday.
Aziz Al-Dehani, Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs, emphasized the Foreign Ministry’s commitment to engaging with the diplomatic group accredited to the country, which expressed its congratulations and appreciation to Kuwait on two occasions dear to our hearts: the celebration of National Day and Liberation Anniversary.
In a press statement on the sidelines of his participation in the open day for diplomats, Al-Dehani expressed his gratitude for this initiative from the Deanship of the Diplomatic Corps, noting that it highlights Kuwait’s status and that its celebrations are recognized globally.
“Our participation today is part of the activities carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a component of its diplomatic work,” he added, thanking the attendees for their involvement in Kuwait’s national holidays on Kuwaiti soil.
He explained that both governmental and private institutions take part in Kuwait’s national celebrations, emphasizing that Kuwait holds significant value and is appreciated by people worldwide.
In response to the large turnout of diplomats at this event, Al-Dehani remarked that this participation is a message of love, appreciation, and solidarity for Kuwait, highlighting that it represents international engagement as evidenced by this substantial diplomatic gathering.
Regarding the working hours of the consular department during the holy month of Ramadan, he said: “The Civil Service Bureau has announced the working hours for this period, and we, as part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, serve as the window for citizens and residents. We operate in both morning and evening shifts, as well as after iftar.”
For his part, His Excellency Zubaydullo Zubaydzoda, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the State of Kuwait, stated that the deanship has chosen specific areas of Kuwait to gather ambassadors and diplomats to share in the joy of our Kuwaiti brothers on Independence and Liberation Days, noting the participation of about 170 diplomats in this event.
He added that Kuwait is a country dear to us, and our initiatives aim to familiarize the diplomatic community with the customs and traditions of Kuwait, as well as the various events taking place here, especially since Kuwait is hosting many cultural activities as the capital of Arab culture for the year 2035.
He referred to the deanship’s participation in the Kuwait Marathon, explaining that this involvement is significant for the importance of February among the Kuwaiti people, stating, “We feel as if we are an integral part of this ancient society.”
Engineer Duaij Al-Otaibi, the President of the Kuwaiti and Arab Federation of the Kuwaiti Shooting Club, welcomed the diplomatic missions accredited to Kuwait on behalf of the Board of Directors, expressing his sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya and his deputy Sheikh Jarrah Al-Jaber, for facilitating the visit of Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Dr. Zubaydullo Zubaydzoda and the diplomatic family to the Kuwait Archery Club. He also thanked them for their participation in our celebrations of National Day and Liberation Day.
During the shooting competition, which was attended primarily by diplomats, colleague Khaled Elsharkawy managed to score 48 points out of 50 with five shots, one of the highest scores recorded in the challenge.
