Kuwait’s Municipality confirms continuation of receiving event tent requests

The Kuwait Municipality confirmed today, Wednesday that it will continue receiving requests for event tents, stating that its current list remains active.

In response to a report published by Al-Jarida today, titled “The Municipality Awaits Council of Ministers’ Approval on Tent Fee Amendments” the Kuwait Municipality clarified that the list for temporary event tents has not been suspended. The Municipality emphasized that there have been no changes to the fees or insurance for the issuance of licenses, which remain as currently enforced.

The statement noted that the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and the Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Abdullatif Al-Mashari, had not issued any directives to suspend the current list of temporary event tents (wedding halls) in effect from the hygiene and road occupancies departments at the Municipality’s branches in the governorates.

Furthermore, the statement stressed the importance of the media adhering to accurate information and urged citizens to rely on official sources for their information. It also clarified that Ministerial Decree No. 935 of 2019, regarding the list of tents for temporary events, has not changed.

The statement emphasized Municipality’s commitment to meeting the needs of citizens and enhancing the services provided to them by maintaining current services while working on developing advanced services in the regions to better meet citizens’ needs in the future.
