Kuwait’s cabinet mandates ministries to report contracts with foreign entities

The Cabinet emphasized the importance of notifying the Ministry of Foreign Affairs when government agencies enter into contracts with foreign governments and entities. This measure aims to strengthen international relations and consolidate strategic partnerships, ensuring coordination and alignment with the country’s foreign policy objectives.

Informed sources told Al-Rai that this directive reflects a commitment to ensuring that government contracts serve as a vital tool for strengthening diplomatic relations between Kuwait and other countries. These contracts not only reinforce mutual commitments and shared interests but also contribute to enhancing economic and trade cooperation on an international scale.

The sources stated that the Cabinet has instructed all ministries and government agencies to inform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of any contracts signed with external entities, including previously concluded agreements with foreign companies, contractors, or institutions.

Furthermore, the sources stressed that this decision goes beyond a mere regulatory measure, embodying a strategic vision to maximize the benefits of international agreements and strengthen Kuwait’s global standing.
