Kuwait’s airport roundabout to drive future cosmetic and infrastructure projects

The project, completed in 40 days, spans 19,000 square meters and uses sustainable materials, including 870,000 square meters of reinforced concrete and 6,000 cubic meters of concrete for the surrounding corridors.

Dr. Mahmoud Bushehri, Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, emphasized that the opening of the Kuwait airport roundabout with its new design marks the start of future projects by the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources, aimed at developing cosmetic projects across the country, according to Al Rai newspaper.

This took place on the sidelines of the opening of the airport roundabout, attended by the ministers of municipality and works, as well as the governors of Al-Ahmadi and Al-Farwaniya, as part of the ongoing preparations to host the Gulf summit in Kuwait today.

For her part, Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of Public Works, emphasized the importance of adhering to the specified timetable for completing all work to the highest standards, ensuring the success of this major regional event. She also noted that the summit provides an opportunity to showcase Kuwait’s civilizational and developmental progress.

In turn, Eng. Nasser Taki, Director General of the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources, told Al-Rai newspaper that the authority completed the airport roundabout project in just 40 days, covering an area of 19,000 square meters. The project used 870,000 square meters of reinforced concrete and 6,000 cubic meters of concrete for the corridors surrounding the roundabout. Designed to be sustainable, it incorporates eco-friendly materials and crops.

He added that the design blends elements of the past and present, and through night lighting, it creates an architectural masterpiece reflecting Kuwait’s current development in line with Vision 2030. He also pointed out that projects are ongoing across all governorates, following a set timeline.

Taki also expressed the authority’s commitment to supporting development efforts in the country by promoting cosmetic agriculture and improving the environment around vital sites.

For his part, Sheikh Azabi Nasser Al-Athabi, the Governor of Al-Farwaniya, expressed his satisfaction with the opening of the airport roundabout in its new and advanced form, reassuring the people of Al-Farwaniyathat road improvements in the governorate will begin soon, following the specified schedule for the rehabilitation and beautification of the infrastructure.

Sheikh Hamoud Al-Jaber, Governor of Al-Ahmadi, emphasized that the governorate is at the forefront of projects to rehabilitate and beautify roads in cooperation with the relevant authorities. He also pointed out that the Initiatives Committee welcomes all donors wishing to contribute to developmental and cosmetic projects across the country.
