Kuwaiti student fatally stabbed during robbery attempt in North Carolina
Suspect arrested, remanded to police custody

A Kuwaiti student was killed after being stabbed multiple times during an apparent robbery attempt in the US city of Charlotte, North Carolina, according US authorities.
The victim, identified as Saeed Ali Al Tabtabai, 27, was found inside his vehicle on June 10 suffering from multiple stab wounds. Investigators said the attack allegedly occurred during an attempted theft of his mobile phone.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene and provided medical assistance before the victim was transported for treatment, but authorities later confirmed that he died from his injuries.
Following investigations, police identified and arrested a suspect, 51-year-old David Lawrence, who was later remanded into custody pending legal proceedings, THE gULF nEWS REPORTS.
Authorities said the suspect faces several charges, including murder and armed robbery involving a bladed weapon linked to the attempted theft of the Kuwaiti citizen’s phone.
The case remains under investigation as law enforcement agencies continue examining the circumstances surrounding the fatal attack, while news of the incident has sparked shock and sadness among the Kuwaiti community and students studying abroad.
