Kuwaiti participates in high-level workshop on identity fraud, border security

The General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, in collaboration with the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex), organized a specialized workshop in Tunisia focusing on document and identity verification.

The event brought together representatives from the interior ministries of Arab and European countries, along with officials from the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), according to KUNA.

Kuwait is represented at the workshop by Brigadier Abdullah Al-Hassan, Director General of Criminal Investigation at the Ministry of Interior, and Brigadier Nayef Al-Mutairi, Acting Director General of Forensic Evidence.

According to a statement issued by the General Secretariat, the workshop covers key topics such as modern methods of identity verification, techniques used in document forgery, and the Frontex-Interpol Document and Identity Look-up System (FIELDS) for electronic document authentication.

The workshop aims to promote the exchange of expertise and best practices among border control officers and international agencies, while enhancing the use of advanced operational tools to combat document and identity fraud at international borders.
