Kuwaiti men marrying foreigners dip 27 percent

Statistical data reveals a 27 percent decline in the number of Kuwaiti men marrying foreigners during the first three months of 2025, compared to the same period in 2024.

As of January 2025, there have been around 239 marriages between Kuwaitis and foreigners, down from 326 during the same time frame in 2024.

Among the different nationalities, marriages between Kuwaiti men and Gulf women topped the list in 2025, with 74 marriages recorded. This represents a 60 percent decrease compared to last year.

Marriages to women of unspecified nationality came in second place with 30 cases, then marriages to Iraqi and Syrian women, both with 26 each. Marriages to Asian women amounted to 23, while Egyptian women ranked sixth with 14 cases.

The list also included marriages to 12 Jordanian women, 6 Lebanese and 2 Yemeni, as well as 5 European, 2 American, 3 African and 16 women of other nationalities.

In the same period of 2024, Kuwaiti men married 122 Gulf women, 27 Iraqi women, 54 women of unspecified nationality, 17 Syrian women, 13 Jordanian women, 12 Egyptian women, 9 European women, 8 Lebanese women, 8 Palestinian women, 6 Yemeni women, 5 African women, 30 Asian women, 3 American women, and 12 women of other nationalities.
