Kuwaiti ‘being interrogated in Lebanon’, was at the wrong place at the wrong time

Lebanese media outlets reported that the Lebanese Army Intelligence carried out a high-level security operation in the town of Saadnayel, in the Zahle district, during which about six wanted individuals of Lebanese and Syrian nationalities have been taken into custody.
While some reports initially claimed that a Kuwaiti citizen kidnapped two days earlier had been freed during the raid, informed sources told Al-Rai that the abduction of a Kuwaiti national was ruled out; instead only saying that the Kuwaiti individual ‘was present at the scene’ and without giving further details, added, he is being interrogated.
The sources added the Kuwaiti authorities are closely following up on the circulating information in coordination with their Lebanese counterparts to verify all details and take appropriate measures.
Lebanese security authorities are investigating the Kuwaiti citizen to determine the reason for his presence during the arrest of the drug gang.
