
The Kuwait Cricket Council (KCC) Board President, Haider Farman, and KCC Director General, Sajid Ashraf, had the honor of meeting His Highness Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance & Coexistence of the UAE and Chairman of the Emirates Cricket Board.
The meeting took place during the recent India-Pakistan game, held on 23 rd February, of the ICC Champions Trophy at the iconic Dubai International Stadium, following an invitation from Mr. Khalid Al Zarooni, Vice Chairman of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB), and Mr. Mubashir Usmani, General Secretary of the ECB.
KCC President, Farman, congratulated His Highness Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan on the successful hosting of yet another mega cricket event, following the world-class ILT20 finals recently concluded at the renowned “Ring of Fire” earlier this month.
The groundbreaking ILT20 Gulf Cricket T20I Championship, held in December 2024, was also hosted by the Emirates Cricket Board. The finals took place at Dubai Sports City Stadium, where the UAE emerged as winners, while Kuwait finished as runners-up.
Importantly, Kuwait and the UAE, as part of the GCC, Asia, and the global cricketing community, will continue to strengthen their bilateral ties and cricket development programs in the region. Alongside other member nations, they aim to create more opportunities for high-performance players and stakeholders, fostering the growth of the sport.
