Kuwait, Syria pledge continued coordination on regional stability and drug control

Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, held talks in Damascus with his Syrian counterpart, Minister of Interior Anas Khattab, during his official visit to the Syrian Arab Republic.
The two ministers discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the interior ministries of Kuwait and Syria, with a strong focus on combating drug trafficking and organized crime.
Both sides emphasized the importance of exchanging intelligence, expertise, and best practices to enhance regional security and stability, reports Al-Rai daily.
Discussions also covered mechanisms for joint coordination across various areas of security operations, aiming to preserve the safety of both nations. Both sides reaffirmed the depth of fraternal ties between Kuwait and Syria and their shared commitment to developing effective frameworks for security collaboration.
The meeting was attended by senior security officials from both countries, who agreed to maintain active communication and ongoing consultation on issues of mutual concern.
Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef and his delegation arrived in Damascus on Tuesday, following the conclusion of his official visit to Lebanon.
