Kuwait strips citizenship from 506 individuals over fraud and national interest

The Supreme Nationality Investigation Committee, led by Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, convened, today, Thursday, 27th March, and ruled on 506 cases of Kuwaiti citizenship revocation or loss, pending final approval by the Council of Ministers.
In a press release, the Ministry of Interior announced that the committee ruled the loss of Kuwaiti citizenship in one case of dual nationality, in accordance with Article (11) of Kuwaiti Nationality Law No. (15) of 1959 and its amendments.
The committee decided to revoke Kuwaiti citizenship certificates from 465 individuals under Article (21 bis A) of the 1959 Kuwaiti Citizenship Law and its amendments. This decision was based on cases of fraud, false statements, and forgery, including those who obtained citizenship through dependency on forged claims.
Additionally, the committee resolved to revoke Kuwaiti citizenship in 40 cases under Article (13), Paragraph 4 of the 1959 Kuwaiti Citizenship Law and its amendments, citing the higher interest of the country as the basis for this decision.
