Kuwait, Saudi Arabia foil fugitive’s escape bid in joint security operation
Escaped convict arrested at Salmi border; Interior Ministry launches probe

The Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of a fugitive in security cooperation and coordination between the State of Kuwait and the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The fugitive, convicted in one of the cases, was wanted by law to complete the remainder of his prison term after fleeing the country.
In a statement, the ministry said the operation was carried out through close security coordination, intelligence exchange and joint cooperation between the competent authorities in both countries.
The ministry expressed its deep gratitude to the Ministry of Interior in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef Al Saud, for the swift response and effective cooperation in apprehending and handing over the accused.
The ministry said a special investigation committee has been formed to determine the circumstances and reasons behind the release of the accused and his subsequent escape.
The committee will take the necessary legal measures against those found responsible, while reaffirming that the law applies equally to all without exception and that no individual will be allowed to evade justice or violate the law.
