Kuwait prioritizes food security with farmer-focused initiatives
Dr. Mahmoud Bushehri affirmed Kuwait’s commitment to bolstering food security through financial and technical support for farmers, livestock, and dairy producers, adding that the country is firmly dedicated to expanding agricultural holdings.

Dr. Mahmoud Bushehri, Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, affirmed the state’s commitment to supporting projects that bolster food security, offering assistance in financial and technical areas to the union of farmers, livestock, and dairy producers, according to Al Jarida newspaper.
Bushehri explained in a press statement during the opening of the first Halali exhibition that the state is seriously committed to expanding agricultural holdings. This expansion aims to provide farmers with greater opportunities in various fields of agricultural production, thereby contributing to the development of light industries on these farms.
Eng. Nasser Taki, Director General of the Public Authority of Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources, emphasized that the authority’s strategy focuses on expanding green agricultural areas and enhancing food security. He stressed that the current strategy prioritizes sustainability in ornamental agriculture, with the authority dedicating all resources to support farmers, who are key contributors to achieving food security.
“The market is open for farmers to align their agricultural production with market needs and aspirations,” Taki stated.
Nasser Al-Mardi, head of the organizing committee for Halali, highlighted that the success of the exhibition’s first edition sets a strong foundation for organizing similar events in the future. These future exhibitions will aim to attract advanced international and Arab companies to meet the needs of the local market.
He added that the exhibition features 56 companies from Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, along with local companies, and is dedicated to promoting agricultural sustainability.
