Kuwait prioritizes aviation security and safety to boost global standing

Sheikh Humoud Mubarak Humoud Al-Sabah, head of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), stated that ensuring security and safety in the aviation sector is a top priority for the government, aligned with Kuwait’s goals to develop and modernize its air infrastructure and strengthen its standing in the global aviation industry, as reported by Al Rai newspaper.
Following the fourth meeting of the National Committee for Aviation Security and Facilities, Sheikh Humoudemphasized to KUNA the importance of ensuring Kuwait International Airport’s compliance with regulations and directives issued by international organizations, particularly regarding security and safety.
He noted that the meeting covered several key topics related to aviation security and facilities at Kuwait Airport, most notably the measures taken to meet the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The discussion also included international treaties aimed at strengthening cooperation between local and international entities in the aviation sector.
Sheikh Humoud explained that the committee reviewed the security procedures at Kuwait Airport, focusing on the cooperation between relevant authorities to secure the gates and airport perimeter. Additionally, they ensured the implementation of procedures in line with the committee’s directives and those of the agencies operating at the airport.
He stressed the need to achieve the highest levels of security at Kuwait International Airport, in line with the country’s aspirations to develop and modernize its air infrastructure and strengthen its position in the global aviation sector.
The committee was chaired by Sheikh Hamoud, with membership from the Ministries of Defense and Interior, the General Directorate of Customs, the Kuwait Fire Force, and other relevant civil aviation officials.
