Kuwait marks milestone with 26,520 trademark registrations

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued 1,296 licenses to companies in October, with the total volume of other transactions reaching 27,310.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued 1,823 certificates of origin for GCC countries, 322 for Arab-Islamic countries, seven for European countries, two for African countries, eleven for the Americas, and five for Asian countries and Australia.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry revealed that in October, a total of 1,296 licenses were issued for companies, according to Al Rai newspaper.

The ministrys statistics show that 721 licenses for free businesses were granted, along with 42 temporary trade fair licenses, 153 special brokerage licenses, and two temporary trade fair licenses for gold and jewelry.

The ministry revealed that 231 commercial agency applications were registered and 1,713 general import licenses were issued. It also noted that the automated system portal processed 26,520 licenses for companies, while the total volume of other transactions amounted to 27,310.

Regarding commercial control, the ministry reported 515 seizure reports, 37 license violations, the opening of fifteen shops, the closure of nine shops, 276 in-person complaints, and 3,089 electronic portal complaints closed.

Additionally, 26,520 trademark registration applications were received, along with 5,330 trademark publications, 7,674 trademark registration and certificate issuance applications, 6,679 trademark renewal requests, 27,310 renewal publication requests, and 1,378 other transactions.

The ministry also issued 1,823 certificates of origin for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, 322 for Arab-Islamic countries, seven for European countries, two for African countries, eleven for the Americas, and five for Asian countries and Australia.
