Kuwait mandates national products for in-kind aid distribution

The initiative will help revitalize national industries and increase their value in the Kuwaiti economy, particularly in the food and other industrial sectors.

The Council of Ministers decision contributes to enhancing the role and status of the State of Kuwait in humanitarian work, leaving a positive impression on the beneficiaries of this aid.

The Council of Ministers has issued a decision mandating the Red Crescent Society, public benefit associations, and all government bodies involved in providing in-kind aid to ensure that all such assistance consists of national products made in Kuwait and bearing the state logo, according to Q8-Press.

The Council of Ministers, in a letter circulated to all concerned authorities, stated that it had reviewed the Amiri Diwan’s correspondence, which included references to the lofty directives and instructions emphasizing the need for the Council to issue this decision. An example cited was the use of national products bearing the state logo, such as those produced by the Kuwaiti Flour Mills and Bakeries Company.

The circular highlighted that this measure “contributes to enhancing the role and status of the State of Kuwait in humanitarian work, leaving a positive impression on the beneficiaries of this aid. It will also help revitalize national industries and increase their value in the Kuwaiti economy, particularly in the food and other industrial sectors.”

The council further noted that the Amiri Diwan stressed the importance of conducting a thorough review of the decision before its issuance, considering all legal and financial aspects. Additionally, it emphasized the need to establish an appropriate control mechanism to ensure the decision’s proper implementation, achieving all its intended objectives.
