Kuwait launches campaign on housing construction compliance

• The Kuwait Municipality’s “A Lifetime House Without Violations” campaign will emphasize the role of engineering offices in implementing design plans licensed by the municipality.

• All the departments of the municipality will intensify their field tours in all governorates, stressing that they will not hesitate to take all legal measures against building violations.

The Kuwait Municipality announced it will launch an awareness campaign titled “A Lifetime House Without Violations” tomorrow, focusing on building, construction, and restoration work in private and model housing areas.

In a press statement on Sunday, the municipality said that oversight teams affiliated with the engineering audit and follow-up departments will assess the compliance of engineering offices and contractors classified by the municipality with building regulations, requirements, and controls.

The municipality added that the campaign aims to educate citizens about the importance of dealing with municipality-classified building contractors and avoiding construction that violates municipal laws and regulations. It will also emphasize the role of engineering offices in implementing design plans licensed by the municipality.

The statement explained that the departments will intensify their field tours in all governorates, stressing that they will not hesitate to take all legal measures against building violations, including writing up reports and referring violators to the competent department for judicial action.

The municipality pointed out that the field teams include specialized engineers from the Engineering Audit and Follow-up Department in all governorates to ensure compliance with municipal laws and regulations regarding the requirements and specifications for private and model housing buildings, as well as the organization of construction work and schedules.
