Kuwait highlights women’s role in innovation and leadership

The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity, one of the centers affiliated with the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), organized a special discussion session on Kuwaiti Women’s Day under the theme “The Journey of Innovation and Impact,” attended by a distinguished group of female leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs in Kuwait.

In a press statement issued on today (Monday), the center said the session was part of its ongoing efforts to support and empower women while highlighting inspiring success stories and experiences in the fields of innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership, with the aim of promoting a culture of creativity and positive societal impact.

The event opened with remarks by Deputy Director General for Support Services, Aseel Al-Turkeit, who emphasized the center’s commitment to providing dialogue platforms that showcase inspiring Kuwaiti female talent and strengthen women’s role in innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurship, contributing to the development of Kuwait’s creativity and knowledge ecosystem.

The discussion session was moderated by Dr. Hanan Al-Sharrah, founder and CEO of INNOTECH, and featured entrepreneur and founder of the “Li Wa Lakom” initiative, Taiba Al-Humaidhi; engineer Reem Al-Farhan, founder and CEO of Central Tenders Company; and Dr. Kawthar Ali, assistant professor at Kuwait University’s Faculty of Dentistry and CEO of Restore.

During the session, the speakers shared their professional and personal experiences, highlighting key milestones and challenges that shaped their journeys in innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership.

They also discussed the importance of creating a supportive environment for women and empowering them to make a positive and sustainable impact on society.

The event witnessed active participation from attendees during the open discussion and Q&A segment, where views and experiences were exchanged on the future of Kuwaiti women in leadership and innovation.

The center noted that organizing the event reflects its commitment to supporting national talents, empowering women, and fostering an environment that encourages innovation and knowledge, in line with Kuwait’s vision of building a society based on creativity and sustainable development.
