Kuwait Health Minister launches medical center
Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi launched on Sunday the opening of Al-Mutla Health Center (1) in sector N11, a week after receiving it from the Public Authority for Housing Welfare as part of the expansion of health centers in new residential areas.
The Ministry of Health said in a press release that the launch of the center, at present, included public medical clinics, emergency and observation rooms and laboratories. They would also provide nursing and dental services, pharmacies, clinics for chronic diseases, pediatrics, gynecology, mental health and surgeries soon.
The Housing Authority is due to hand over Al-Mutla’s specialized health center, in sector N10, to the MoH within the next few days. Moreover, work is underway to operate Al-Abdali’s new health center, soon, within the ministry’s plan for expanding health centers, as they are the first line of defense against diseases.
The statement added that Minister Al-Awadhi opened, on November 9, an emergency center in Al-Mutla district, as the first center of this kind in the area. It serves residents of 28,000 houses and works round the clock.
The center also contains a control room to receive reports, a storeroom for equipment, consumables and oxygen tanks, a unit to sterilize and wash equipment and ambulances. (KUNA)
