Kuwait government announces $15,000 payout for Mangaf fire victims

An informed source revealed that, following the generous instructions of His Highness the Amir, the families of each victim in the Mangaf building fire will receive compensation of $15,000.

The compensation will be distributed through the embassies of the deceased. The embassies will then ensure the funds reach the families.

In a separate but related point, the source while speaking to Al-Qabas newspaper, emphasised stricter enforcement of housing regulations. Workers found to be in violation will face deportation within 3 to 4 days. The government has also decided against building new worker shelters,citing the sufficiency of existing facilities.
