Kuwait forms six Sharia committees to oversee distribution of aid

The Ministry of Social Affairs has formed six Sharia committees comprising representatives from the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, the Zakat House, the General Secretariat of Awqaf, and the Union of Charity Societies to review applications submitted by debtors through the Central Aid Platform and will apply strict legal criteria to ensure only eligible cases receive assistance.

The committees aim to uphold transparency, prevent duplication, and ensure fair disbursement of donations –13.727 million dinars collected through contributions from 21,851 donors during the campaign from March 14 to April 14 — to those most in need, according to Al-Jarida.

Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah has emphasized that this success story reflects the deep-rooted humanitarian spirit of the Kuwaiti people and the wise leadership’s support for social solidarity.

She hailed the wide participation of individuals, institutions, and charities, asserting that the campaign offers hope and stability to families facing financial hardship and reinforcing Kuwait’s position as a leader in humanitarian efforts.
