Kuwait Fire Force mandates integrated building fire systems
The project, starting with critical buildings, will expand to include investment, commercial, industrial, and sports facilities, aiming to cover about 50,000 buildings and commence implementation next year.

The project aims to connect buildings with special alarm panels linked to the main panel, facilitating detection and identification of faults or malfunctions by Kuwait Fire Force’s operations room.

The alert signal will be sent from the building to the fire force center through a panel using the chosen network (5G or newer). Employees receive the report via the main panel and must confirm its accuracy within 120 seconds.

A specialized team from the Kuwait Fire Force will depart on Tuesday for the UAE “to review the fire system implemented in their buildings and learn its technical aspects for implementation in Kuwait.
Major General Khaled Fahd, the Acting Chief of the Kuwait Fire Force, stated that linking fire systems in buildings with firefighting operations is now mandatory.
The project, aimed at safeguarding lives and property, will be implemented following a comprehensive study of its technical, legal, and administrative aspects by Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior. Failure by owners to comply with the project “will result in legal accountability,” according to Al Rai newspaper.
Major General Fahd stated in remarks to Al-Rai that a specialized team from the Kuwait Fire Force will depart on Tuesday for the United Arab Emirates “to review the fire system implemented in their buildings and learn its technical aspects for implementation in Kuwait.”
“The project will commence with buildings of special importance, such as airports, hospitals, large hotels, and commercial complexes, along with significant government structures like ministries and courthouse complexes, and venues hosting gatherings such as wedding halls. Subsequently, it will extend to investment, commercial, industrial, and sports facilities, adhering to specific standards,” he explained. Major General Fahd mentioned that the project is anticipated to encompass approximately 50,000 buildings.” He expressed hope that the comprehensive study of the project will conclude soon, enabling implementation to commence next year.
In an interview with KUNA, Major General Fahd explained that the project aims to “connect buildings with special alarm panels” linked to the main alarm panel. He further clarified that “these panels will be connected to the force’s operations room, enabling the discovery and identification of faults or malfunctions within the buildings.”
He explained that the alert signal will be transmitted via the panel connected from the building to the fire force center using the 5G network or any newer network chosen by technicians. Employees will receive the report via the main panel, and the accuracy of the report must be confirmed “within 120 seconds.” After confirmation, response mechanisms will be dispatched to the incident location, regardless of its nature, whether fire-related or otherwise. He further stated that the signs to be installed in private buildings will be at the owners’ expense.
