Kuwait faces internet slowdown after submarine cable cut

The disruption in the international submarine cable ‘Falcon’ occurred outside Kuwaiti territorial waters, affecting the quality of Internet services across the country.

The General Authority for Communications and Information Technology reported an interruption in the international submarine cable Falcon, operated by GCX, between Kuwait and Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

The disruption occurred outside Kuwaiti territorial waters, affecting the quality of Internet services across the country, the Al Qabas newspaper reported.

The authority is coordinating with GCX to implement technical solutions and is working with local Internet service providers to reroute data through alternative international cables, ensuring service continuity.
