Kuwait Eco Warriors organise Successful World Cleanup Day

On September 21, 2024, Kuwait Eco Warriors once again demonstrated their dedication to environmental initiatives by organizing a World Cleanup Day event at the Abu Halifa grounds. In partnership with Spread Passion, the main organizer, and with the support of multiple volunteer groups, the event was a resounding success.

The governor of Ahmadi attended the event, actively participating in the cleanup and expressing appreciation for the Kuwait Eco Warriors and the volunteer groups involved. Among those contributing were organizations like Hilton, Dawood Boris, and the Philip Morris volunteer team, working in unison to tackle litter and raise awareness about environmental conservation.

The cleanup effort resulted in the collection of 160 trash bags. Volunteers from Kuwait Eco Warriors offered assistance, from providing accessories to organizing the registration process. Notably, the younger members of the group also took on significant responsibilities, exemplifying their commitment to shaping a sustainable future. Abu Halifa Cooperative lent support by setting up a refreshment tent, creating a comfortable space for volunteers to take a break.

Several media outlets were present to capture the event, filming interviews with Kuwait Eco Warriors and other participants to further spotlight the importance of such initiatives.

Children played an important role in the cleanup, highlighting the group’s mission to educate the next generation about protecting the planet. The presence of the Kuwait police added to the event’s sense of community and security.

Having now completed 190 weeks of cleanups, including 124 consecutive weeks, Kuwait Eco Warriors continue to leave a profound mark on local environmental efforts. This event at Abu Halifa marks the third World Cleanup Day initiative spearheaded by the group at this location. In a gesture of gratitude, Kuwait Eco Warriors presented a souvenir to the Ahmadi governor and extended an invitation to the governor to attend their milestone 200th cleanup event, set for December 2024.

The response from the local community was overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the tireless efforts of the volunteers. The event itself became a testament to the power of collective action, with over 150 participants of diverse nationalities coming together for a common cause.

Kuwait Eco Warriors warmly invites companies, organizations, and individuals who are passionate about environmental protection to join their future campaigns.
