Kuwait declares four-day mourning over death of Qatar’s Father Amir
Flags to be flown at half mast in honour of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani

By order of His Highness the Amir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, an official mourning period of four days has been declared following the death of Qatar’s Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Flags will be flown at half mast across Kuwait and at the embassies of the State of Kuwait abroad, starting from Sunday, July 12, 2026, for a period of four days, as the nation mourns the passing of the late Father Emir.
Kuwait expressed its condolences, praying to Almighty God to have mercy on the deceased, forgive him, grant him a spacious place in Paradise, and reward him for his service and contributions to his nation.
