Kuwait Customs foil crystal meth smuggling attempt

. . . contraband found hidden in chicken shipment from Egypt

Kuwait Customs authorities have foiled an attempt to smuggle a significant quantity of crystal methamphetamine into the country, concealed inside a shipment of frozen chicken arriving from Egypt, in a major drug bust at Jazeera Airways’ Terminal 5 cargo facility.

According to security sources, customs inspectors became suspicious of the shipment during routine screening procedures. A detailed inspection led to the discovery of illicit narcotics carefully hidden within packaged poultry, indicating a sophisticated smuggling method designed to evade detection.

Customs authorities confirmed that the seized drugs, identified as crystal meth, were immediately confiscated, and the shipment was prevented from entering the local market.

The case has been referred to the relevant investigative authorities for further legal action and to trace those behind the attempted smuggling operation.

Officials praised the vigilance of customs personnel, stressing that such operations reflect ongoing efforts to tighten border security and combat drug trafficking networks that attempt to exploit commercial imports and logistics channels.
