Kuwait consumes 14.6 million cubic meters of treated water in September

. . . advances toward sustainable resource management

The Ministry of Public Works announced that 14.573 million cubic meters of quaternary and tertiary treated water were consumed in September.

The Ministry explained that the quaternary treated water consumed amounted to 13.568 million cubic meters, while the tertiary treated water consumed amounted to 1.004 million cubic meters.

These quantities reflect the increasing reliance on treated water for irrigation, landscaping, and various production projects, contributing to the rationalization of freshwater consumption produced by the Ministry of Electricity and Water and achieving environmental sustainability goals.

The Ministry of Public Works continues to implement its programs to expand and improve the efficiency of treatment plants, ensuring the quality of produced water meets the highest international standards.

Treated water has become a vital source of support for the country’s water resources. It’s worth noting that the ministry’s future plan includes increasing the production capacity of treatment plants and expanding water transmission networks to cover a wider range of agricultural areas and public parks.

It also includes employing modern technologies in the field of treatment and reuse, enhancing the sustainability of water resources and keeping pace with Kuwait’s Vision 2035 in the field of integrated water management.
