Kuwait confirms stable food supply across fish, livestock, and agriculture

The Director General of the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources, Salem Al-Hai, said fish continues to be imported into Kuwait through land ports in sufficient quantities and that marine fishing operations are proceeding normally, although not at full capacity.
Currently, Al-Hai said, only large fishing trawlers, are allowed to fish in Kuwait’s territorial waters, with smaller boats set to resume soon, which is expected to boost fish production.
Al-Hai also reported that the livestock and poultry sectors are operating normally, with stable production of broiler chickens and table eggs, reports Al-Rai daily.
Moreover, agricultural production is abundant and diverse, ensuring that locally grown produce remains widely available in markets through at least May.
He emphasized that the authority is coordinating closely with relevant government agencies and is part of specialized committees to monitor developments, enhance preparedness, and maintain food security.
An emergency plan has been activated under the directives of Minister of State for Development and Sustainability, Dr. Reem Al-Faleej, ensuring that staff attendance and emergency readiness remain at high levels.
Al-Hai concluded by reassuring citizens and residents that food security remains stable across fish, livestock, and plant sectors, with no disruptions expected in supply.
