A Pakistani national was killed on Tuesday, March 17, in Abu Dhabi after shrapnel from an intercepted missile struck the Bani Yas area, authorities confirmed.
The Abu Dhabi Media Office reported that the incident occurred following the successful interception of a ballistic missile by the UAE’s air defense systems, dw.com reports.
Since the outbreak of hostilities between the US and Israel and Iran’s retaliatory strikes in late February, at least eight people have died in the UAE due to missile and drone attacks.
Tuesday’s fatality came shortly after the UAE temporarily closed its airspace in response to Iranian missile and drone threats.
