Kuwait calls for stronger military coordination to boost Gulf stability
Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah praised this year’s achievements, including joint military exercises that boosted Gulf Armed Forces’ efficiency, reflecting the GCC leaders’ vision, while leading Kuwait’s delegation at the 21st Joint Defense Council meeting in Doha.

Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, Acting Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior, led Kuwait’s delegation on Tuesday at the 21st Joint Defense Council meeting of GCC Defense Ministers in Doha, Qatar, according to Al Rai newspaper.
He expressed his pride and gratitude to the State of Qatar, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, Amir of Qatar, for its commendable efforts during its presidency of the previous session. He also praised the warm reception and hospitality extended to the Kuwaiti delegation.
At the start of his speech, Al-Yousef congratulated Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman on assuming the role of Minister of State for Defense Affairs in Qatar and the presidency of the current session of the Joint Defense Council, wishing him success in his duties.
He also thanked Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Attiyahfor his outstanding contributions during his tenure as president of the Joint Defense Council.
Al-Yousef emphasized that the meeting is taking place amid complex regional and international challenges, highlighting the need for intensified efforts to strengthen coordination and military cooperation among GCC countries to bolster security and stability in the region.
Al-Yousef praised the achievements made during the current year, including joint military exercises that have enhanced the efficiency of the Gulf Armed Forces, noting that these accomplishments reflect the vision and directives of the GCC leaders.
He highlighted Kuwait’s anticipation of hosting the 45th session of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf next December, as well as the upcoming session of the Joint Defense Council next year, reaffirming Kuwait’s commitment to supporting the Gulf cooperation process.
At the conclusion of his participation, he called for strengthening joint defense strategies to support regional stability, expressing hope that the meeting would help achieve the goals and aspirations of the GCC countries. He prayed for the preservation of our homelands, wishing them continued security, stability, and prosperity.
