Kuwait braces for strong winds, fog, and high waves starting tonight through Saturday
Weather expected to improve Friday
The Kuwaiti Meteorological Department has forecast rainy weather beginning tonight and continuing until noon on Friday, with thunderstorms expected in some areas, along with active winds,
He added that fog may form in some areas starting Thursday evening until Friday morning, and again from Friday evening until Saturday morning.
Acting Director Dharar Al-Ali told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Wednesday that the rains are caused by the interaction of a surface low-pressure system carrying warm, humid air with a cold low-pressure system in the upper atmosphere.
This combination will lead to the formation of low and medium clouds, accompanied by thunderstorms in certain areas.
Al-Ali noted northwesterly winds shifting to light-to-moderate southeasterly winds, occasionally intensifying. Sea waves are forecast to rise above six feet.
Weather conditions are expected to gradually improve from Friday afternoon, as cloud cover diminishes and the chances of rain decrease due to the advance of a high-pressure system.
