Kuwait braces for scattered rain through Saturday

The Meteorology Department reported that Kuwait is experiencing the effects of a deepening surface low, coinciding with another low in the upper atmosphere. As clouds increase this evening, Wednesday, there is a chance of scattered light rain.

The acting director of the department, Dharar Al-Ali, told KUNA that rain is expected to continue intermittently until Saturday evening, with varying intensity ranging from light to moderate. Some areas may experience thunderstorms and occasional heavy rainfall.

Al-Ali stated that rainfall will peak from Friday afternoon and continue into Saturday. He added that southerly winds will strengthen on Thursday and Friday, potentially causing dust storms and reduced visibility, especially in open areas, while also leading to high sea waves.

Furthermore, Al-Ali noted that weather conditions will start to gradually improve from midnight on Saturday, with decreasing cloud cover and diminishing chances of rain. There is also a possibility of fog formation on Sunday morning, especially in coastal areas.
