Kuwait boosts supply stability, moves to protect economy and citizens

Kuwait continues to implement comprehensive measures to confront the repercussions of ongoing Iranian attacks, maintaining high levels of military, security, and civilian readiness through coordinated national efforts.

On the economic front, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Kuwait reassured the public of the stability of supply chains and the uninterrupted availability of essential goods.

Minister Osama Boodai issued a decision to support shipping costs and price differences for key food items and raw materials to ensure price stability and prevent additional financial burdens on consumers, reports Al-Rai daily.

The subsidized items include staple goods such as rice, flour, lentils, vegetable oils, sugar, frozen chicken, tomato paste, infant formula, powdered milk, canned food, and bottled water, reflecting efforts to secure food availability under current conditions.

Ministry spokesman Abdullah Al-Harz said the authorities are closely monitoring market supplies and prices, noting that the ministry has coordinated directly with suppliers to strengthen strategic reserves and enhance market readiness to face any potential disruptions.
