Kuwait-Bahrain talks focus on advancing civil aviation and air navigation safety

The President of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Sheikh Hamoud Al-Mubarak met with the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Khalifa, to explore ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the civil aviation sector.
According to a statement issued by the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the talks focused on mechanisms for exchanging technical expertise and coordinating joint efforts to advance the civil aviation industry in both countries. The discussions aimed to ensure that both nations keep pace with global developments and reflect the deep-rooted fraternal ties that unite Kuwait and Bahrain, reports Al-Rai daily.
The statement added that both sides underscored the importance of enhancing partnership and integration in air transport, adopting best practices in airport management, and safeguarding the safety and security of air navigation systems.
The talks also highlighted the need to improve the efficiency of national cadres, expand specialized training programs, and promote the exchange of information in areas related to aviation safety, security, and navigation systems. On a broader level, Kuwait’s Minister of Public Works, Noura Al-Mashaan, also met with the Bahraini delegation, alongside Minister of State for Telecommunications Affairs Omar Al-Omar and other senior officials to enhance collaboration across land, sea, and air transport, as well as in communications and port connectivity, with an eye toward boosting maritime tourism.
The Bahraini side expressed interest in signing a memorandum of cooperation with Kuwait in the field of maritime connectivity, in a bid to develop the rich maritime heritage shared by the two nations. They also discussed the potential benefits of drawing on Bahrain’s experience in air transport.
Minister Al-Mashaan reviewed major projects under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Works and the Ministry of Roads and Transport, including the GCC railway link and the proposed railway connection between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
