Kuwait approves palm tree support program for fiscal 2025/2026
The official gazette Kuwait Alyawm announced today Decision No. (1393) of 2026 has been issued by the Director-General of the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources, detailing the support program for fruit-bearing palm trees for fiscal year 2025/2026.
According to the decision, farmers will receive KD 1.5 per fruit-bearing palm tree for the following varieties — Barhi, Ikhlas, Sakri, Majdool, Umm Al-Dahn, and Nabut Saif.
According to Al-Jarida daily support is calculated at the rate of one fruit-bearing palm tree per 64 square meters of utilized land.
The program stipulates that support will be disbursed only after inspection and verification of the palm trees’ fruiting and that the trees must be free from diseases, particularly the red palm weevil. Palm trees are included in the Authority’s official statistics and recorded by the competent agricultural administration.
Eligible areas include Wafra, Abdali, and Sulaibiya, with disbursement rules requiring that the support amount per holding exceeds KD 50. For holdings with multiple partners, one partner must sign an authorization form to receive the support.
Support will not be granted until all rental dues for the plot are paid and any violations of agricultural laws or previous fines are resolved before the end of the fiscal year. Payments are also subject to the budget allocated by the Authority for 2025/2026.
The decision underscores the Authority’s commitment to enhancing agricultural production and supporting fruitful palm cultivation while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
