Kuwait approves 73.8m dinars to fast-track road and highway upgrades
- Among the largest allocations, Al-Ahmadi Governorate received an additional 7.973 million dinars for its first-phase major road maintenance programme, while Al-Farwaniya was allocated 10.909 million dinars across its two maintenance zones.

Kuwait has taken another major step in modernizing its transport infrastructure after the Central Agency for Public Tenders approved additional funding of 73.81 million dinars for 14 major road and highway maintenance contracts across the country.
The approvals allow the Ministry of Public Works to issue the first change orders for the projects, increasing the value of each contract by 25 percent to accommodate additional works and ensure the timely completion of comprehensive road rehabilitation programs.
The expanded funding reflects the government’s continued commitment to improving Kuwait’s road network, enhancing traffic safety and supporting long-term infrastructure development across all six governorates.

The approvals also extend to Kuwait’s strategic highway network. Additional funding was approved for the maintenance of Al-Salmi Road, as well as the Al-Abdali and Al-Jahra highways, ensuring continued upgrades to some of the country’s most heavily used transport corridors.
Officials said the additional allocations are intended to address evolving project requirements, improve construction efficiency and ensure that maintenance works meet the highest engineering standards.
The latest approvals form part of Kuwait’s broader infrastructure development strategy aimed at extending the lifespan of roads, improving connectivity between governorates and supporting future economic growth through reliable transport networks.
With billions of dinars invested in public infrastructure in recent years, road rehabilitation remains one of the government’s top priorities as Kuwait continues to modernize its transportation system and improve services for motorists across the country.
