Kuwait achieves qualitative leap in women’s healthcare through ‘AI’

The Assistant Undersecretary for Supporting Medical Services at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Abdullah Al Fars, confirmed today, Wednesday, that healthcare has undergone a radical transformation through the integration of artificial intelligence, which has significantly enhanced the delivery of medical services across various fields of medicine.

In a speech delivered on behalf of the Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi, at the opening of the 27th Annual Conference on Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Abdullah Al Fars highlighted that the conference, themed “From Hope to Reality: Achievements in the Field of Fertility and Pregnancy Care,” aims to serve as a leading platform for promoting discussions, sharing cutting-edge research, and exploring the limitless potential of artificial intelligence and other innovative approaches in obstetrics and gynecology.

The President of the Conference, Dr. Iman Al-Shamali, in her speech, stated that the conference reviews the latest research and developments in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological diseases, obstetrics, and infertility. She emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences and knowledge, as well as fostering regional and international cooperation, which contribute to advancing the development of the health sector and improving the quality of healthcare provided to women.

Dr. Al-Shamali expressed her hope for concerted efforts to develop and improve health and education services, aiming to transition from a knowledge-consuming society to a productive one. She emphasized the importance of pursuing development, staying aligned with progress, and successfully addressing future challenges, all while ensuring stability and security in women’s health.

In her speech, Dr. Amal Abdullah, the head of the Council of Obstetrics and Gynecology Departments, stated that this conference is being held at a time when significant developments in women’s health services in Kuwait are taking place. She highlighted that these advancements reflect the commitment to strengthening the health infrastructure, expanding medical expertise, and adopting the latest technologies to ensure the highest levels of healthcare for women.

Dr. Abdullah highlighted the opening of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the new Al-Farwaniya Hospital, which is equipped with the latest medical technologies and specialized units to provide comprehensive care for women. She also noted the opening of the fertility laboratory at the same hospital, further enhancing the healthcare services available to women.

Furthermore, Dr. Abdullah pointed out that the operation of obstetrics and gynecology clinics at the new maternity hospital is part of the preparations for its full opening. She explained that the hospital is a distinguished facility that will offer advanced and diverse services to women, covering all subspecialties in gynecology, obstetrics, and neonatal care. Additionally, it will serve as a specialized center for maternal and fetal medicine, as well as women’s reproductive health.

Dr. Abdullah confirmed that preparations are underway for the opening of the Maternal and Childhood Hospital in Al-Adan this year. The hospital will be an advanced facility aimed at enhancing maternal and newborn care services.
