KNPC launches first corporate innovation policy to boost efficiency, sustainability

The policy aims to reinforce KNPC’s position by fostering a sustainable innovation-driven environment that supports efficiency, competitiveness, and continuous improvement in the energy sector, as Al-Khatib calls for employee-led creative solutions

Coinciding with World Creativity and Innovation Day, observed annually on April 21, the Kuwait National Petroleum Company announced the launch of its first corporate innovation policy, reinforcing its commitment to embedding a culture of innovation across all its operations and business practices.

In a statement to employees, CEO Wadha Ahmed Al-Khatib said the policy marks a key milestone in establishing a structured institutional framework for innovation. She noted that it will enhance the company’s ability to achieve strategic objectives, improve performance efficiency, and align with global advancements in innovation practices.

Al-Khatib added that innovation has now become a core pillar in evaluating institutional performance. She called on employees to actively contribute by proposing creative and practical ideas that can be translated into implementable initiatives, helping to improve operations and deliver sustainable value, reports Al-Rai daily.

She emphasized that every employee plays a vital role in strengthening the company’s innovation ecosystem, particularly in the face of evolving challenges. She stressed the importance of teamwork and innovative thinking to enhance resilience, ensure business continuity, and transform challenges into growth opportunities.

The newly-introduced innovation policy outlines key principles, including aligning innovation activities with the company’s strategic goals, strengthening governance, and establishing an effective innovation management system that meets international quality standards.

It also highlights the importance of protecting intellectual property rights, promoting knowledge sharing among employees and stakeholders, and encouraging collaboration with customers, suppliers, and community institutions to support long-term institutional development.

The policy further aims to reinforce Kuwait National Petroleum Company’s position by fostering a sustainable innovation-driven environment that supports efficiency, competitiveness, and continuous improvement in the energy sector.
