KMWA marks Karnataka Rajyotsava with a message of unity and peace
Attendees networked, fostering stronger community relations and leaving with a renewed sense of unity and a deeper appreciation for peace and harmony.
• The Karnataka Muslim Welfare Association (KMWA) convenor, Br. Ameeruddin Amir, welcomed the esteemed guests, presented a video highlighting KMWA’s mission and activities, and then invited several prominent figures from the community to the stage to share their thoughts.
The Karnataka Muslim Welfare Association (KMWA) successfully hosted a vibrant Kannadiga Get-Together, titled “Sarva Janangada Shantiya Thota” (“The Garden of Peace for All People”), to mark Karnataka Rajyotsava 2024. The event took place on December 26, 2024, at ICSK (Senior) in Salmiya.
Presided over by KMWA President Jameel Ahmed, the gathering aimed to promote peace and unity among diverse communities. Beginning at 7:45 PM, the program drew an esteemed audience of distinguished guests and community members.
The convenor, Br. Ameeruddin Amir, welcomed the esteemed guests and presented a video highlighting KMWA’s mission and activities. The guests were then invited to the stage, where several prominent figures from the community shared their thoughts.
The guests of honor, recognized for their contributions to society, delivered brief yet inspiring speeches, each lasting two minutes. These included Dr. Diwakar Chaluvaiah, Ex-President of IDF; Dr. Surendra Naik, President of GSB Sabha Kuwait; Mr. Ramesh Kediyoor, Founder President and Convenor of Mogaveera Association Kuwait and Ex-President of Tulu Koota Kuwait; Mr. Sandeep Chabba, Ex-Vice President of Kuwait Kannada Koota; Mr. Rajesh Kunder of Billava Sangha Kuwait; Mr. Yusuf Rasheed, President of KKMA – Karnataka Branch; and Mr. Jagadeesha Shanbough, General Secretary of Tulu Koota Kuwait.
B.S. Sharafuddin delivered the keynote speech on the theme “Sarva Janangada Shantiya Thota” (“The Garden of Peace for All People”), emphasizing the importance of peaceful coexistence and religious harmony for the growth of individuals and society. His presentation also shed light on the diverse dialects of Kannada spoken across various regions of Karnataka. Concluding his speech, he shared a heartfelt condolence message for the late Dr. Manmohan Singh, the beloved former Prime Minister of India, acknowledging his immense contributions.
The evening’s program included a fun and engaging Kahoot quiz led by Br. Fahimuddin Sharief, featuring five thought-provoking questions that energized the attendees and sparked lively discussions.
Br. Atheeq Bayezeed delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to all attendees, the guests of honor, the keynote speaker, and KMWA office bearers (Br. Imam Baksh, Br. Ameeruddin Amir, Br. Irshad Kudroli, Br. Tanveer, Br. Fahim Sharief, Br. Jafar Sadiq, Br. Hameedullah, Br. Shakeel Ahmed, Br. Syed Akhil, Br. Shami, and Br. Mushtaq Ahmed) for their support and participation, which made the event a memorable success.
The evening began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an by Br. Irshad Kudroli and concluded with a delightful dinner. Attendees enjoyed the meal and engaged in networking, further strengthening bonds of friendship within the community. Participants left with a renewed sense of unity and a deeper appreciation for peace and harmony among all people.
