The probiotic powder enhances gut microbiome balance, improves digestive health, boosts meat and egg production, and combats salmonella.
The Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) has achieved a breakthrough with the development of a novel probiotic product by its Environment and Life Sciences Research Center.
According to reports by Q8-Press, this innovation is poised to revolutionize the Kuwaiti poultry industry and elevate food safety standards.
A safe and effective alternative to antibiotics
The research team, led by Dr. Tahani Al-Sair and including Dr. Hanan Al-Khalifa, Hamad Al-Mansour, Mohammed Kishk, Dr. Thunayan Al-Enezi, Anwar Al-Mutairi, Hanan Sultan, and Haya Al-Salim, has created a safe and effective alternative to antibiotics.
This probiotic powder can be easily incorporated into poultry feed or water, offering a solution to combat intestinal diseases in poultry.
The benefits of this probiotic product extend far beyond simply preventing disease. It fosters a healthy gut microbiome, the microbial ecosystem within the digestive tract.
This improved gut health translates to better digestion, leading to increased meat and egg production from the poultry.
The probiotic formula is well-suited for Kuwait’s challenging climate, ensuring its effectiveness. Moreover, it demonstrates exceptional capability in combating salmonella, a common foodborne pathogen. This characteristic significantly bolsters food safety standards.
Rigorous trials demonstrate efficacy
Extensive trials have been conducted to meticulously evaluate the probiotic product’s efficacy.
The results are impressive – the product safeguards bird health, significantly reduces mortality rates, and promotes optimal bird growth. This translates to poultry with improved meat mass, taste, and overall quality.
By promoting domestic production of high-quality poultry products, KISR’s innovation contributes to reducing reliance on imported goods. This fosters a more self-sufficient and resilient food system for Kuwait.
