Kirby India starts work on ₹10-billion PEB plant in Tamil Nadu
. . . breaks ground on fourth manufacturing plant, raises capacity to 400,000 tons

Kirby Building Systems and Structures India, a subsidiary of Alghanim Industries, has begun work on its fourth pre-engineered building (PEB) manufacturing facility in Manapparai near Trichy, Tamil Nadu, as the company expands its manufacturing footprint and strengthens its presence in southern India.
The new facility will be built across approximately 33.2 acres and will have an annual manufacturing capacity of 100,000 metric tonnes, with commercial operations expected to begin by mid-2027.
Once operational, the plant will raise Kirby India’s total annual manufacturing capacity from 300,000 metric tonnes to 400,000 metric tonnes, enabling the company to serve customers across southern India and other key markets with greater speed and flexibility.
Alghanim Industries Executive Chairman Kutayba Y. Alghanim said the investment reflects the company’s confidence in India’s long-term industrial growth and its commitment to contributing to the country’s development.
Kirby International CEO Waleed K. Alghanim said the investment would expand the company’s capacity, strengthen its presence in southern India and bring it closer to customers in one of the country’s fastest-growing industrial regions.
Kirby India Managing Director P V Mohan said the Tamil Nadu facility would enable the company to respond to customers across southern India more quickly while bringing advanced manufacturing capabilities closer to key markets.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by senior executives from Alghanim Industries and Kirby International, including Waleed K. Alghanim, Kirby International COO Nizar Shawwa, Vice President for the Middle East and Africa James Minato and Kirby India Managing Director P V Mohan, along with project consultants, contractors, government representatives and members of Kirby’s Southern Region team.
