Italian ambassador lauds expanding security, economic ties with Kuwait

Ambassador Morini stated that he would focus primarily on enhancing bilateral cooperation between Italy and Kuwait in the coming months, particularly in scientific, academic, and cultural relations.
During a celebration held by the Italian Embassy on the occasion of the National Day of the Italian Republic, His Excellency Lorenzo Morini, the Ambassador of Italy to the State of Kuwait, affirmed the Kuwaiti people’s strong affinity for Italian products. He highlighted the widespread presence of the “Made in Italy” brand across Kuwait.
Ambassador Morini’s statement was made in the presence of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Sheikh Jarrah Al-Jaber, Sadiq Marafi, the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Europe, and several heads of foreign missions and diplomats.
Ambassador Morini highlighted Italy’s significant contributions to United Nations peace and security activities, emphasizing its notable presence in Kuwait as part of ‘Operation Inherent Resolve’ against ISIS.
He praised the growing cooperation between the two nations in security and economic realms, noting the ‘increasing interest of Kuwaiti people, particularly younger generations, in discovering Italy. This interest is seen as a crucial element for the future of Kuwaiti-Italian relations.”
The ambassador stated that he would focus primarily on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the coming months, particularly in scientific, academic, and cultural relations. This includes facilitating the exchange of students, researchers, and professors, promoting language learning, and boosting tourism. He emphasized that these aspects are pivotal in fostering stronger friendship and improved cooperation with the State of Kuwait.
He also highlighted Italy’s remarkable economic and social progress since 1946, noting that it has now become “one of the world’s top ten most advanced economies.”

“The chapter of fascism is now in the past,” he remarked. He noted that 78 years ago, on June 2, 1946, the Italian people boldly embarked on a new path by adopting a new form of government. This decision marked a turning point from fascism, which was a dark chapter in our history that resulted in a devastating war and immense suffering. Thanks to this choice, Italy has emerged as an active participant in the global community, dedicated to peace, dialogue, and pluralism.
