Iraq orders probe after drone attack on Kuwait border post

Iraq has ordered a full investigation into a drone attack targeting a border post inside Kuwaiti territory, with instructions to identify those responsible and bring them to justice, according to Iraqi officials.
Iraqi Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari said Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has directed authorities to track down the perpetrators of the incident and ensure they are prosecuted.
Al-Shammari made the remarks following a telephone conversation with Kuwaiti Interior Minister Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, during which both sides discussed the circumstances of the early-morning attack involving two drones striking a border post inside Kuwait.
In a statement carried by the Iraqi News Agency, Al-Shammari strongly condemned the incident, describing it as an act of aggression and sabotage. He stressed that such actions undermine relations between the two neighboring countries and do not reflect the historic ties between Iraq and Kuwait.
Authorities on both sides are continuing coordination as investigations proceed, with heightened security measures expected along the shared border.
