Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) reported significant material damage to the oil sector complex building and several operational facilities following an Iranian drone attack.
This came in a statement by KPC official spokesperson Hisham Al-Refaei on Sunday during a media briefing on current developments and the latest field updates following the Iranian aggression on Kuwait.
Al-Refaei said the attack targeted multiple sites at dawn, including the Shuwaikh-based oil sector complex housing KPC and the Ministry of Oil, causing a fire and extensive damage. Emergency and firefighting teams responded promptly and efficiently, with no human injuries
reported.
Al-Refaei added that several operational facilities of Kuwait National Petroleum Company and Petrochemical Industries Company were also hit, resulting in fires and substantial material losses.
He affirmed that no casualties were recorded, while precautionary measures were taken to ensure personnel safety and secure facilities. Firefighting teams, supported by the Kuwait Fire Force, are working to contain the fires and prevent further spread.
KPC is coordinating with relevant authorities to assess the damage and reaffirmed its commitment to the highest safety and security standards.
