Interior Ministry warns of new drug-smuggling tactics

- Ministry says narcotics are increasingly being concealed in ordinary items, including drug-soaked paper
Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has warned that drug trafficking is taking on new forms, with narcotics increasingly concealed in ordinary items to evade detection.
In an awareness video, the ministry said a method referred to as “A4” has recently emerged, involving ordinary sheets of paper being soaked in narcotic and psychotropic substances for concealment and transportation.
The ministry said the General Directorate of Drug Control is continuing proactive efforts to monitor such crimes and identify emerging smuggling methods.
According to the ministry, these efforts have led to the arrest of suspects and the detection of cases involving paper soaked in ketamine, as well as the thwarting of attempts to smuggle narcotics shipments.
