Interior Minister grants vehicle inspection centers six-month grace period
. . . regularize status of car inspection companies

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef has issued a decision granting companies and accredited institutions authorized to conduct technical inspections for vehicle registration renewals a grace period to rectify their legal status.
The decision aims to regulate the work of existing inspection centers and ensure their compliance with approved standards and regulations, reports Al-Rai daily.
Under the decision, Article (11) of Ministerial Resolution No. 2753 of 2024 has been amended to stipulate that centers currently operating under the provisions of the resolution must adjust their status within six months from the date of its implementation.
The amendment further allows the Director General of the Traffic Department to extend the grace period to a maximum of ten months, if necessary.
The move comes as part of broader efforts to streamline procedures, enhance regulatory oversight, and ensure the continued efficiency and safety of vehicle inspection services.
