Indian woman arrested for practicing medicine without license

Personnel from the Criminal Security Sector affiliated to the Farwaniya Investigations Department and the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Investigations Section, have taken into custody an Indian woman for practicing medicine without license in a clandestine, unlicensed clinic in the suburb of Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh.
The arrest came following a tip-off from unidentified sources. When the plainclothesmen raided her ‘makeshift’ clinic inside her apartment she was caught red-handed, examining a child, flagrantly violating Kuwait’s health and legal regulations.
The suspect who is on dependent visa, was also found in possession medical supplies, a stethoscope, blood pressure monitoring equipment, and a variety of medications, as well as baby formula designated for distribution by the Ministry of Health.
During interrogation, the woman confessed to practicing medicine without a license or academic qualification, admitting that she sourced some medicines from abroad while purchasing others from local pharmacies.
As officials continue their crackdown on illegal and dangerous medical practices that pose serious risks to public health, the suspect has since been referred to the competent authorities for legal action.
